What is Responsible Gambling Awareness Week?

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week (RGAW) is held across Victoria every year, to increase community awareness of the importance of maintaining a balanced approach to gambling.

RGAW was first launched in 2007 as an initiative of the Responsible Gambling Ministerial Advisory Council (RGMAC) and involves a unique partnership between Victorian and Local Governments, industry and community groups.

Through the week we hope to educate people about responsible gambling practices and reinforce that knowledge, balance and control are important in keeping gambling within your limits.

Responsible Gambling Awareness Week messages aim to:

  • Increase the Victorian community’s awareness of responsible gambling practices and strategies to ‘stay in control’.

  • Increase organisational awareness about responsible gambling practices and available support services.

Read more about what's happening during the week and who's involved.
